Privacy Choices

The Reader does not require an account. Cloud providers, microphone access, refund-review sharing, and managed registration are separate choices.

Use only local features

Use the Reader with Apple translation and speech. Do not add a personal API key or start an Assistant cloud session. Microphone permission is not needed for reading.

Manage local study data

• Delete a document from Library to remove its text, translations, alignment, audio cache, and reading history.
• Open Assistant history to delete saved conversation sessions.
• Remove the app to remove its remaining local container. iOS Keychain items can also be removed from the app's provider/account controls before uninstalling.

Manage cloud access

• Choose Personal Aliyun or LangLearn Cloud explicitly in Assistant provider settings.
• Tap Stop session to close the microphone and cloud connections.
• Remove the personal Aliyun key to delete it from iOS Keychain.
• Disable microphone access in iOS Settings to prevent voice sessions.

Conversation mode may hear other people nearby. Tell them that audio will be processed in Alibaba Cloud's China (Beijing) region and start only after everyone who may speak agrees.

Apple refund-review sharing

In LangLearn Cloud account settings, turn off Share usage with Apple for refund review. Withdrawal prevents later Apple consumption-information responses unless you opt in again to the current policy.

Managed account

Sign Out removes LangLearn Cloud tokens from the iPhone but preserves the server account and credit. Delete Account requires fresh Apple authentication, then disables the entire account and starts credential revocation and data deletion. Unused credit becomes inaccessible.
